Sometimes, April Fool’s pays off. In Iceland, people have to cross a threshold for the April Fool’s prank to be successful, but actions such as making a phone call or clicking on a certain link have become metaphorical thresholds.
That’s why many people were skeptical of Hotel Rangá’s ad on a local radio station yesterday, for free rooms for the first 20 callers. But – we delivered!
The hoax was that there was no hoax, a meta-prank if you will, intended to bring joy as we continue to celebrate Hotel Rangá’s 20 year anniversary.
